Rev. Jasper Wiggins

Dear Papa,

It's way after midnight
And I'm just laying here in bed
I can't seem to fall asleep
As thoughts of you run through my head

I remember you at church
Boy, you sure could preach
It still makes me smile
To think of you taking out your teeth

I remember you in Haines City
Your house was only a couple of doors down
You became my dad and my grandpa
When Chuck no longer came around

I remember your love of God
Your faith seemed to have no end
Trials never seemed to phase you
Because Jesus was your best friend

Even in your last days
When asked if you wanted to be healed
You once again put your trust in God
And asked only for his will

So now you're up in Heaven
Walking on streets of gold
Your address is now with Jesus
Up in his promised home

I'll try to follow in your footsteps
As I climb these Heaven-bound stairs
Wait for me by the Pearly Gates
Someday I'll meet you there

Rev. Jasper Wiggins
1918-1998

Elder Jasper Franklin Wiggins went on to be with his best friend, the Lord Jesus Christ, on November 9, 1998.
His ministry spanned some 48 years from the time he received the Holy Ghost in January of 1950 until shortly before his passing in 1998. A man of simple faith he was a "church builder" having pastored or founded nine different churches, the last in Leesburg, FL. where he pastored for 10-1/2 years. Elder Wiggins retired from that church in 1988 but, continued actively in the ministry until just a few weeks before his death.

We were privileged to have Elder Wiggins with us during the last summer of his life.
The message still strong:
"God Loves you"... "
"He wants to cleanse you"...
" He'll wash away all of your sins in Jesus Name"...
If He did it for me He'll do it for you"...
"You're going to like it!"

A mighty warrior...look close upon him, you'll not see his like again.
